Post by Seymour C. MooreThat sounds promising, but it will probablt be some time before I reach
Suran. First time I played, as an Imperial warrior type, it was the
*last* city I visited.
I also have Haldenshore installed, in which there is another Thief Guild.
Unfortunately the lock to their hideout was too complex, when I visited
the place first. But now I have aquired a Grandmaster Lockpick, so it
should be no problem when I return.
Heh. You can easily take the Silt Strider from Seyda Neen, Balmora, Molag
Mar, or Vivec to get to Suran, so it's not like it's out of the way. Don't
let that stop you from playing Suran Underworld, which many consider to be
among of the best of the 3rd party quest mods. The first several missions
are quite simple as well, though it gets QUITE difficult later on, far more
difficult than any of the default Morrowind/Tribunal/Bloodmoon missions. I
still say that there shouldn't be any problem with joining the Thieve's
Guild. They may have allies among the Imperials, but they're still, well,
THIEVES... They're criminals. It's not like they support the King or
anything like that.
Of course, my way of playing has always been to join as many factions as I
possibly can. If you could join all three great houses, I would. (I have
one character for each house, though the guy I made for the Redoran house
hasn't actually joined yet, and he's almost lvl 60, so that might not
happen...)
If you're looking for a truly interesting way to play, however, why not try
NOT joining the Blades? Or if you already have, just stop doing any work
for them. You can still complete the main mission if you kill Vivec and
take Wraithguard from his corpse, and all that stuff about being declared
Hortator and Nevarine by the Great Houses and Ashlanders is really not
necessary to completing the game. You might also consider becoming a
vampire. There's three clans you can join with them as well. Or you could
do Bloodmoon and become a werewolf. (Can you be a vampire and a werewolf at
the same time? Hmm...) I haven't really tried any of these yet, but if you
really want to do an "evil" character, there are ways to do so. (Note, if
you choose to do the vampire thing, I hear there's several great mods for
that which really expand on the vampire story line, which I understand is
somewhat limited in default Morrowind...)
